In 2005 Sandra and Michael McNeely purchased the building and began re-renovating with a vision to restore the building to its original beauty.

The renovations also include extensive restoration of the windows.  All of the exterior window openings were boarded up or reduced to fit smaller windows.  Over the past few years the McNeely’s have uncovered the openings and installed handmade windows by a local Rapid City business.  The windows have been crafted to explicitly replicate the original window designs.  Funding for this phase of the restoration has been supplemented by a grant from the Deadwood Foundation.

Additional renovation efforts include replacing old boilers with new HVAC systems, which are individually housed in each office suite.  All electrical and plumbing have been replaced and new restrooms have been installed.

Future plans include the installation of an elevator and a possible third story, which could serve as a restaurant with an open-air patio or potentially two condominiums with a view of beautiful Downtown Rapid City, its sunrises and sunsets.
